Sniff...

I went through a period of time where I drew a lot of stuff like this. Not so much any more. The big difference is I don't use Design markers anymore as water colors suit my temperament much better and are way more forgiving. They also never dry up so they are definitely one of the more frugal mediums. I just brought an old tooth brush to the office/studio for spattering stuff but I forgot to bring some india ink. I have been wanting to play with india ink for weeks now. I have a huge bottle somewhere.

I really like that contrast and line work. I think I am going to pick up some water colors this week just to play around.

What kind of paper is that?

Not sure. Just some random pad laying around my desk. I recommend bristol board, illustration board or water color paper they hold up much better. To much bleed on other stock and it can be frustrating.

Again great work. I'm curious to how much time these take you. Your style is so distinct and well built, everything I've seen from you demonstrates extreme familiarity with the form, I hope your cashing in on some commercial work...

Time wise, not long, but I let them breath, draw for a minute while I'm in the middle of something else. I'll do that throughout the day on several different little things but eventually hone in on one that I'm feeling in particular. Hard to say though.
